Durga puja in Shillong!

I was hardly 9 when my parents took me to Shillong for my first ever outstation holiday. The best thing about a place like Shillong is the fact that its never boring; the climate, the markets and people most of all. A lot of people from different parts of the world come here for visits and the culture here is something to look forward to. They have a matrilineal society, yeah it’s different and its very interesting too. And, getting back to my original topic ie my puja holidays in Shillong, I can’t express to my fullest satisfaction the thrill i got just knowing that i was going to be there for a whole week! My dad always keep me informed of what exactly we are gonna be doin whenever he takes us out. We visited so many nooks and corners of the town that had the puja pandals. The highlight of this puja was this that my parents got me a saree that had red borders and mustard colour pattern in the body. It was the best gift ever!
