Christmas tree and family tree
This has got to be the best Christmas because the anticipation has been longer than ever before! I will meet the entire lot from my maternal side hopefully and have to do a few rounds of my so called “musician friends” from a small town of 5000 people only.
I always wondered about Christmas being celebrated in big “it” places like the current city Mumbai where I have been staying for the past 23 months. I did like it a lot when I saw a twenty feet Christmas tree in the lobby of the Kempinski associated Leela hotel where I used to work initially. It was fun watching filthy rich people spend $400 on French wines during those festive periods and getting to drink the same ones in the pantry without the manager’’s knowledge. I have to admit that all things aside I still prefer sitting near my fireplace with my china made colourful tea cup filled with homemade coffee and cakes.
Christmas is something that I have always looked forward to but for different reasons at different times. Looking back I realise that all those things that I used to hope for do not match up to the ones that I have expectations for, now. The understating for all of that which I look forward to is very much clear. I know what will make my Christmas special. My family. Not new clothes, fancy parties, latenight sneekouts or the bad boys. Well, the bad boys are exceptions even now, excuse me for that.
Its getting cooler every passing day and I feel esctatic whenever I realise that I am getting closer to the day that I shall leave for Home Sweet Home.
Merry Christmas to you!
