I wish we have a never ending amount of options when it comes to dating and bedding the men in our lives. One lazy afternoon I discovered the stunning similarities we can draw for both men and the clothes we wear season after season, except that we normally don’t change our men every season! Can you for once imagine what it would be like if only it was so…

“I have clothes that are too frumpy which I wear at home for the simple reason that they are comfortable, I would also rather have a home made coffee with a frumpy looking guy, although, I intend to go on a date with a smart, intelligent and witty charmer wearing my lavender figure hugging lycra backless dress. No offence to the frumpy guy out there, it’s just that I am comfortable wearing my frumpy dress when I am with you but not with the charmer”.

Some clothes are too tight and some men are too possessive. We got form fitting clothes that are stretchable and men that are “very” liberal yet protective. Some clothing pieces are meant only for the bedroom and some men leave before we could say “good morning”. We wear old and torn t-shirts if we have to dye our hair and look out for the guy friend if we have to shed a tear over lost love. Shiny dresses make us feel glamorous for that moment but we can’t sleep in them, and wealthy boyfriends try to bargain love with expensive gifts for lost times. We stick to our woollens to combat the icy winters even though they take up huge closet spaces and we stay true to our man who demands a lot from us, for we intend to cuddle up to them when we need to feel the warmth of true love.

We see clothes being displayed on shop windows and strutted down the runways from season to season and then we also see men on the street, neighbourhood, work and everywhere. You choose both with great patience so it doesn’t go out of style even if the season does….

I especially love the way short lycra & jersey dresses wrap the feminine torso. White has always been a dominant colour in my wardrobe and colourful geometric prints just flatter any body type, ofcourse depending on the size of prints for specific bodytypes. Oh and yes the blazer adds a lot of attitude when worn over a tight short dress!!!

I had a frown on my face when i seated myself inside the ” autorickshaw ” enroute santacruz east to visit my friend, we had plans to go shopping later. Nomatter what the weather is, a little trip to the busy shopping streets is always worth the squeeze! The hot weather was so not appropriate for the fancy “ordeal”. Girls will be girls

This season Yellow tops my list as far as colours go, and I am sooooooo glad i found this top that has a wide neck which could be worn as an off shoulder piece at times…and the best part is it did not burn a hole in my purse as my MANGO Skirt suit did! This skirt is as good as one of Philip Lim’s Spring 2009 collection; high waisted, perfect cut, finest fabric, attention to details and the perfect size for a petite frame. I think i like it better than Philip’s wool blend ruffle skirt. So i can proudly say that i have close to 5 nos of high waisted skirts, one for each day of the week now!

“Highwaist” is here to stay.

Highwaist denims are next on the list. Keep coming to my blog!

I have been frequently asked by my colleagues ” where do you shop ben?”, and everytime I have the same feeling that I must have gone for shopping with a purpose. This is not to contradict what I had earlier stated in one of my blogs right here. People generally have this common thing in their mind when they step out for shopping; ” showroom looks”, nothing wrong with that. I buy a lot of stuff from these so called ”showrooms”…even better is the fact that I buy more stuff off the streets literally.

Fashion magazines of the day feature designer ensembles and feature cheap buys that would give the same looks…now my point here is not just to buy cheap stuff and copy but try mix matching the clothes in as many different looks that could compliment the wearer. Sometimes a colourful hand painted wooden neckpiece could entirely lighten up a plain outfit where heavily diamond studded chokers could have no clue. The idea here is to be not in a rush to put everything in that closet on your body like there is no tomorrow…clothes in the closet can wait so concentrate on the look and stick only to that keeping in mind what flatters your body. Dressing to please is okay….but dressing to please the fashion of the moment is a mistake.

“Fashion is so ugly that it needs to change itself every six months”….this is what I read about sometime long back in a fashion magazine. An individual shows to the world what kind of a person he or she is from the way they dress (we know it’s a cliche).

Shopping trends are the same in most places across the globe. Style matters to people all the time and the rest who think that it doesn”t matter believe me they are the ones who inspire the style conscious people more to look better and different all the more, but style is more about looking and feeling good keeping the latest trends in mind and a bit of confidence in carrying that particular look.

I feel that one should go out for shopping without a “to buy list” in mind if one wants to experiment and still be happy at the end of the shopping trip. Knowing the market is a plus point which all shoppers most often have a basic idea about. A true fashionista would never compromise on price tags if she believes that the products are worth it, but hey what if you got something almost the same or even better for a lower bargain? Both the quality and the price should have a good balance.

The bottom line is always the same….style matters no matter what.
