I still clearly remember that particular night in 2005 when I finally decided to buy myself a commercial domain. I so wanted a PriyankSharma.com of my own. But it was already registered and somehow I had to settle for IngeniousDezigns.com (which is still running BTW). This was my first take at showcasing my portfolio in a professional manner. I continued using this website as a vital component of my CV.

Later next year, I again tried to register PriyankSharma.com and it was still unavailable. The year was 2006 and after working for a year in an internet company, I had realized the importance of having your name as your identity and not some company name (Thanks Karl). This time again I had to settle for MrYank.com. This website gained popularity and marked my presence in the world wide web. Comments started flowing in, first from friends and later on from strangers. Thank you all.

I had been regularly updating MrYank.com with my latest works, my favourite tunes, philosophical articles, blog entries, etc. etc. until now. I happened to check the availability of PriyankSharma.com and voila I got it. So everything that was on MrYank.com is now here. I’m also trying to get all my other segregated online stuff here, but it’s a long process and will take some time.

Besides, after a week of hosting this website, the guys at Just Host, my hosting company contacted me via email saying that my website has been selected among their top 10 best websites for this month based completely on the site’s design and content. It definitely gave me a kick when they made me realize that my site has been selected among thousands of entries. What a fantastic start!!!

So what’s new in PriyankSharma.com
- The website section now includes Mobile Websites too.
- Blog is now powered by WordPress.
- Content has been updated from the previously used third-person perspective to the first-person.
- Loads of minor tweaks here and there.
