I think I know
I do not have friends that ever call me to share good news or call to just check up on me. They never call me to invite me to a get together or any happy occasion. I only get calls when someone’s girlfriend is troubling them, has had a disastrous break up, needs computer help, or wants to involve me so that they could get a free ride home. I’m used to hearing sob stories all the time. Am I confused here? Because I like to think of myself as a good friend. I offer support all the time 24/7. Even to those jackasses who keep making the same mistakes OVER AND OVER AGAIN.
You want me to pay for your food and take you on a drive? Fine! Never mind that I’m barely making ends meet. Sure, just let me cancel all my plans and pick you up from your home so you can put fuel in your two-wheeler with the money you just saved.
But for me? ME? When I call just to hear their voice, they either won’t answer the call or will be too busy and will never get back.
I am starting to think I don’t have any actual friends. No one to call to share my excitement with. No one to have a guy’s night out with. And given my options… I’m kind of okay with that.
I would call you to hang if I didn’t live so far away! fuck people!
