Homeopathy at it’s best!

I’m still wondering what made me call this Doctor. I don’t generally respond to promotional messages, but I guess I did the otherwise this morning. While on my way to work, I received the following SMS (in its exact form):

Lose/Gain Wt.upto 5Kgs/mth-No
Exercise-No Fasting-No Medicines.
Latest Tech Natural Skin/Hair Care.
Relief from Chronic Diseases.Call
Dr.Dilip Nadkarni-9930956095

No exercise required, not even medicines; also offering relief from chronic diseases; and to top that, skin / hair treatments also provided. I could somehow hear the word "homeopathy" echoing in my head. Also the fact that Dr. Dilip Nadkarni is a pretty famous Orthopedic Surgeon in Mumbai, I was confused when did this guy branch out into so many medical fields all at once. Anyway, since I was “traffucked” on the highway, I decided to give this guy a call.

He seemed to be a decent character and started explaining me the process of how he would successfully get results. He went into explaining the dynamics of assimilation and metabolism at the cellular level and how these factors are responsible for our body’s response to the same. A lot of his stuff did make sense and he mentioned "detox" as his starting point for any treatment. I agreed to everything he said, and after some more discussion about his fees and stuff, I finally found the moment I’ve been waiting for.

"Err, Doctor: Does your treatment in any way involve homeopathy? Because homeopathy is a rip-off, it just doesn’t work!" Yeah baby, I said it right to his face and then I paused waiting for his reaction. To my expectation, he did become aggressive and very indirectly hinted me that a process or two in the treatment might involve homeopathy. I understood what this was all about and politely mentioned to him that I would call back.

He hung up the phone without saying BYE!

    Hi,
The “pretty famous orthopedic surgeon” from Mumbai is not the same person you encountered. The other Dilip Nadkarni I hear is running a weight loss clinic. A lot of my patients are confused over the name. Apart from sharing a name, there is very little ideology we share. I advocate exercise as one of the great ways to remain fit and be happy. I have highlighted my views on these topics in my books REAL Fitness and Calm Sutra.
    Regards,
Dr Dilip Nadkarni orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist.

There is NO conclusive research that supports Homeopathy. It is nothing but placebo medication. If you spend some time researching on the web you will come across thousands of articles which say the same. :)
